Spring is making an early appearance in southern Maine. The snow is gone. Songbirds are arriving. The male turkeys are strutting their stuff in the back yard trying to gain the attention of the opposite sex and not meeting with much success. We’re harvesting sap for maple syrup and my husband spent the weekend building residences for the bees that will be arriving by mail next month. He is about to become a beekeeper. I’ve spent the last three years trying to foster the native pollinator population. I don’t know what will happen this spring, but I know it will involve a large number of insects.
Safe journeys everyone,
Jeanne Christie
