Wetlands can be generally defined as land that is periodically flooded, whether by the tide, river flows, rain, or groundwater. More precise definitions have been developed for purposes of state and federal regulation. In New York, wetland regulatory definitions are provided by the State, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. To read more, click here. |
