Climate Change History

In 1999, the Tennessee Technological University published a climate change document titled “Mitigation Strategies.”  As the title suggests, the document focuses almost exclusively on greenhouse gas reductions.  The document makes mention of carbon sequestration in soils, but does not mention wetlands.  The document is not official State policy, and Tennessee seems to have taken no further action, as a state.

Current & Future Action

Tennessee is not currently engaged in any climate change oriented activity.

Pilot Programs/Current Studies

The state does not, as yet, have any specific pilots or case studies dealing with wetlands and climate change.
