|VA: Swimming Advisory Issued For Bay Off Va. Beach|

A swimming advisory has been issued for the Chesapeake Bay waters off Mortons Road to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek. Water tests have shown high levels of bacteria that exceed water quality standards, according to the Virginia Beach Department of Public Health. The presence of enterococci usually indicates the presence of other organisms that cause gastrointestinal illness, and infections of the skin, eye and respiratory system.
